To be honest, I have not liked the last round of changes to “My eBay” and any move to return to the older version is good news in my book… Thanks eBay!
We all know eBay is moving to a more retail like atmosphere. If your niche or business model does not fit into a retail like experience for the new eBay buyers, as a seller you will soon find it very difficult to survive on eBay.
Would eBay be justified in closing down digital delivery because of the actions of these very few sellers who gamed a system…which in the end had no connection at all to digital delivery other than the fact that it was the category they happened to sell in?
Recently (yesterday while in the NOLA airport via a Twitter Tweet from a friend) I was asked to compare this year’s Summit event with the recent Channel Advisor Catalyst conference held in Pinehurst, NC.
… you are an eBay customer. This is a change in perspective at eBay and one that I think that will benefit both buyers and sellers.
The first evening of PeSA ECMTA Summit really was just a preview of the exhibitor floor. People enjoyed the cocktail party atmosphere and mingled among one another freely. The real progress on this short evening (everyone was encouraged to depart long before it seemed that the business of networking was complete) seemed to be the meet […]
I just arrived in New Orleans. My ride from the airport was bone jarring in an airport shuttle van, but since I was the last stop, my rough and rowdy ride allowed me to get reacquainted with the sights of New Orleans and the French Quarter…in the daylight. My hotel is on the St. Charles trolley […]

As it is now, Best Match is an unfair system advantaging both high volume sellers and crafty scammers who know how to game the system. Did anyone at eBay seriously believe that people would not find this very serious bug, did eBay not test these types of search protocols before releasing Best Match?

Thousands of honest eBay sellers and small business owners made additional income on eBay by utilizing the service eBay created called “Digital Delivery” – Until… Last month when Brian Burke, Director Global Feedback Policy, made an abrupt statement. On March 24th, 2008, Brian Burke announced digital delivery and information products would forever be banned on eBay core listings by […]

Once again, I was reading eBay Ink (the comments section) and the comments have been keen and well delivered. I started to reply with a comment, but it turned into a blog post…thus I felt placing it here more appropriate. eBay & Competition & Search With the spring, like weeds across the fields of Ethernet-connected […]
After posting my most recent article about eBay North American GM Stephanie Tilenius and her answers to my Digital Download questions at Catalyst 2008… I wanted to be sure I was not too harsh and had presented the case from a sellers perspective fairly. I am not an eBay basher and would prefer to work […]
eBay Speaks & Answers Questions at Catalyst 2008 eBay’s new North American General Manager is the very capable Stefanie Tilenius. Stephanie came back to eBay from PayPal, eBay’s cash cow, and now finds herself in an unenviable position during this particularly tumultuous time of transition for eBay and its new management team & philosophy. Whew, What a way to spend three days in North Carolina! Catalyst 2008 was a informational bonanza held at an unbelievably beautiful and historic resort.
