eBay and Beyond Basics to Business – Internet Radio Tradition

eBay and Beyond - is the concept and brainchild of one Dave White of Western New York. The show started on terrestrial radio on February 7th 2007 broadcasting throughout Northern Pennsylvania and Western New York State and has since moved on the Internet with what can now only be noted as a global audience.

Independent

Dave White comments on each show that his is the only "Independent, Informative, INDEPENDENT and unbiased eBay and eCommerce broadcast available" (I am paraphrasing) and I have to agree that Dave actually started it all in the Independent eCommerce commentary marketplace.

Some will note that eBay radio has been around much longer than what will be eBay and Beyonds second anniversary show tomorrow (February 7th 2009) yet even if true, eBay radio does not give the same unbiased point of view of eBay and Beyond's Dave White.

Generous

Dave has been as always generous to those whom have followed along in behind his trailblazing Internet radio path, myself included.

Many readers know that I have co-hosted the show on numerous occasions, starting in late 2007 and continuing to this day. Dave has shown many of us late bloomers the way to run an interview and talk program about eCommerce and we all owe him a debt of gratitude because without pioneers like Dave White, the internet radio eCommerce talk show genre may not exist today.

TalkShoe and Ustream + Prizes

Tomorrows 2nd anniversary eBay and Beyond show will be broadcast on TalkShoe and Ustream with Live video. It promises to be an extravaganza of unmatched excitement. Breaking News – Internet Merchants Association President Backs Out of Confirmed Interview

As reported here on the Trading Assistant Journal, Steve Grossberg - President of the IMA, had agreed and confirmed with Dave White of the eBay and Beyond Internet Radio Program to an interview. This interview was to occur next Saturday July 12, 2008.

Mr. Steve Grossberg, Internet Merchants Association President and Treasurer, has just informed the eBay and Beyond radio program of his decision to back out of this live radio talk show interview. Dave White was notified of this decision via email and Dave has given the Trading Assistant Journal permission to reprint this short notice.

I am going to have to back out of this interview. Right now my time and energies are geared toward #1 my family, #2 my business, and #3 getting IMA moving forward. We already have an open dialouge and interactive dialouge in place for IMA members to voice their opinions and be heard.

As will be commented here and elsewhere, this is not an unexpected development. I will say I think it is a mistake to back away from an opportunity to offer a different side of the story. This is a move which would not have been deemed advisable by any top notch PR firm or advisor.

Mr. Grossberg's comment in the letter above, stating there is already a place for members to voice opinions seems very empty, especially if Mr. Grossberg himself will remove any members from the Association who dare to voice a differing or dissenting opinion from his own, as has been reported by numerous sources.

Dave White would like to extend an offer for any of the remaining members of the Board of Directors at the IMA to fill in for Mr. Steve Grossberg. Former members of the Board or Ethics Committee are also welcome. The show will still be scheduled and the topics will certainly center around the recent implosion of the IMA governing body.

eBay Live 2008 Chicago To Do List – Are you ready?

eBay Live 2008 in Chicago is just around the corner - Next week eBay and eCommerce buyers, merchants, software and solutions vendors, marketplace merchants, media and of course the normal crowd or crazed eBay fans will be making their way to McCormick center.

What will you be looking for at this, the last eBay Live, possibly ever?

News of more changes at eBay? - Rumors abound with possible shocking announcements on the horizon at eBay. Will these changes be announced next week?
New Connections? - Are you looking for networking contacts in your niche or related to your business? eBay Live will provide a great opportunity to meet new people and forge long standing relationships with them.
Reconnections? - Meet with people who normally only appear in your email or on the telephone.
Technology? - Looking for new cutting edge technologies to help your business? Software, Hardware, Shipping Systems or....? Find it on the solutions floor.
Ideas? Ideas abound at conventions like this... open up and ask your questions of the merchants and experts and in turn share insights with them. Learning can never end in this or any other business.

Preparations

Are you ready? Prior to arriving at McCormick Center in Chicago I suggest taking a look at the eBay Live 2008 exhibitors list.

Make a list of must see vendors and then make sub lists of questions you want to ask these vendors. Bring your questions list with you - in the rush of the crowd and the flow of the convention traffic sometimes it is difficult to remember who you wanted to see and what you wanted to learn. Crib notes are no problem here.

eBay & Beyond Basics to Business Internet Radio – You Tube Video Promotion

My friends Dave & Sparky at eBay & Beyond apparently have taken my suggestions & advice to heart and put thoughts into action...

While doing my Guest Host spot during a recent eBay & Beyond Basics to Business live Internet talk radio show, I had extolled the virtues of using Video Sharing social media sites like You Tube and Flickr video to promote businesses, products and services. This is an example of just how it can be done and the reason to do it...

Yesterday the first eBay & Beyond Basics to Business promotional video was launched on You Tube.

Certainly I would help my friends and co-workers as much as possbile and a video like this just simply makes it very easy for me to do just that. Because they took the time to create the video and upload it to You Tube, I in turn can place the same video in my website/blog.

This is the basis for "viral" marketing and is the very reason why sites like You Tube are so popular. When viewers of a video on You Tube or Flickr or any other video site can freely place your promotion into another website... well it is all good for you!

Take a moment and think about the possibilities...

Go out and create your own video, just as Dave White and Sparky Felix have done, it does not need to be a Steven Spielburg production, it simply needs to share your message...

Great Job eBay & Beyond! I am really impressed by all of your hard work, for a couple of guys who say they have no real technical background, you both seem to have talents beyond your claims...

The OLA Rummage sale has created quite a groundswell of interest, not only from the sellers on the OnlineAuction.com site but from new and excited buyers coming to OnlineAuction.com for the very first time. The Rummage sale at last count : There are 6827 Auctions under the - May 1-8 Rummage Sale category.

The grassroots organizers of the OLA rummage sale, prior to the start of the event, had hoped to inspire their fellow sellers to list 10 items each for this special event 7 Day rummage sale. The thought was to recruit 200 or so sellers to list valuable items on OLA as no reserve .99 cent auctions. This would in turn populate the rummage sale category with at least 2000 items, gaining interest from new buyers, sellers and media alike. Apparently the organizers struck a chord with the sellers on the site because they have more than tripled the amount of listings they had hoped to get in the RUMMAGE SALE category.
