Stuart does not rely on eBay any longer, he has found his way out of the darkness of eBay suspension and into the light of eCommerce sales. Stuart sees a bright future ahead and he says he will never rely on eBay again completely as he had before.
Do you think presenting the idea of fear and retaliation has a positive impact on yours or eBay’s bottom line business.

What to look for in eBay &/or Multi-Channel listing management software… Software is an essential key to all phases of business these days. Without good solid software and software management, costs and profit can move in opposite directions fast. “Auction Management software brings sales administration under control by putting a framework around your eBay sales and automating repetitive tasks. I LOVE eBay… with Some Tough Love … by John Lawson President of 3rdPO.com Hey all my fellow eBay’ers! WOW, what an “exciting” week we have had as sellers on the eBay platform. I use the word exciting loosely, because for some it has been aggravating, for others it has been exhilarating and for most […]
Now EBay is trying to become the CIA of Social marketing – Only accepting information from outside sources yet not sharing any of its own. This will be perceived for what it truly is, a very large mistake.
The Silicon Valley/ San Jose Journal reports a deal has been made between Microsoft and eBay. Shoppers using the Microsoft Live search engine to find products on eBay and elsewhere will be offered cash rebates after making qualifying purchases
eBay Trust & Safety told Dan he was removed for non-performance.
10 years and 3000+ good solid positive feedback is now a non-performing seller on eBay, at least if you have two outstanding unresolved disputes and 10 neutrals in your history.
But what about the little guy?
What about the small seller who is just starting a website or the small seller with no website but has thought about starting one after gaining name recognition on eBay. eBay is the Mt. Everest of traffic for most small sellers.
eBay seems to think if they toss some carrots, no one will notice when they toss a poison pill in an “announcement”. Today’s announcement should cause a great deal of concern for any business oriented sellers…
I really do not think Geographical location has anything to do with selling capability on eBay, but apparently eBay believes in the theory of location location location…

Real business is attracted to eBay for only one reason – traffic.
In a nutshell eBay is a traffic machine, a fire hose of consumers. All of the other stuff is considered as a barrier to entry, the feedback system, the complicated fee structure, fraud etc…
Neutral feedbacks from the past are being manually converted to negatives in sellers feedback profiles! eBay is doing just that, changing past neutrals into negatives with a visual change from a grey mark to a red in the feedback profiles.
The difference between a seller with one good feedback and a Powerseller with 10,000 feedback is zero if your transaction with that party goes bad. If one looks at the 10,000 feedback sellers out there, dozens if not hundreds of negative feedbacks have been accumulated by these Powersellers. The illusion however is that these sellers are more trustworthy than the low feedback seller, simply because they sell more often.
eBay is doing what it’s leadership feels it needs to do to remain profitable and viable in today’s every changing eCommerce marketplace. John Donahoe, Lorrie Norrington and all of the executive team at eBay are doing what their research and analysis tells them they need to do.
“I paid you, you left me good feedback, I feel better because this means the seller I bought from cares enough to make some sort of effort to let me know that he appreciates my trust”. This is how I felt about feedback in the early days, and this is what I think eBay is trying to foster with the recent and seemingly radical change in the feedback system.
The point is like minded people joining together to break bread and talk about what it is that they do in life, at work, and in the social arena. Of course the discussions at this particular table were somewhat different than, say a local Lions Club meeting, but is there really a difference?
Does eBay really want to look this bad in the eyes of investors and users alike? Or, does John Donahoe want Meg Whitan to look this bad?
I want to respectfully say that I am basically just a guy trying to feed my family with an eBay business. My business is a business that I started at the kitchen table, literally.
